The Brooklyn Nets have signed former #1 draft pick Anthony Bennett to a two-year contract. Bennett was selected first overall in the 2013 Draft but already wore out his welcome in the NBA following failed stints with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Toronto Raptors. Brooklyn desperately needs young assets and are taking the risk.
NBA.com reports Bennett has averaged just 4.2 points and 3.1 rebounds in 12 minutes per game in the NBA. The Toronto native has recently played for the Canadian national basketball team and looked decent. Brooklyn has Luis Scola and Trevor Booker at the top of the power forward depth chart but Bennett will have a chance to steal the job if he impresses.
