The Portland Trail Blazers have traded Allen Crabbe to the Brooklyn Nets for Andrew Nicholson. Crabbe is just 25 years old and adds another young piece to the rebuilding process of the Nets. Brooklyn actually signed Crabbe to his 4 year, $75 million contract last summer before Portland matched it to keep him under roster.
Portland however is strapped for cap space and badly needed to trade someone. Crabbe was dealt to create space for a potential Carmelo Anthony trade or any future deals to improve the roster. The Blazers get cap flexibility and the Nets get a young player they believe in the talent of.
