The offseason started with Carmelo Anthony being the most likely superstar to be traded. Kyrie Irving, Paul George, Jimmy Butler and other noteworthy names were moved, but Anthony is still in New York. Following the Knicks getting rid of Phil Jackson, they aren’t as desperate to move Anthony.
According to multiple reports, Anthony still wants to get traded to the Houston Rockets in hopes of contending for an NBA Championship. Carmelo has a no-trade clause, so the Knicks only have one potential trade partner due to his desire. The Knicks are currently planning to start the season with Anthony and will consider moving him if a better situation arises.
