Many Boston Celtics fans are still upset about the team trading Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder and other assets for Kyrie Irving. Thomas specifically became a Boston fan favorite leading the team into contention this past season and played through the heartbreak of his sister’s death in the playoffs.
Ainge revealed that going through with the trade was a tough decision.
“It was definitely the toughest call I ever had to make. I have a pretty good understanding how real this all is involving players and their lives and their families and the disruptions and the emotions. I get all that and that’s not easy for players and for coaches and for executives that invest a lot into these players.”
Thomas admitted he was hurt at the trade but is now inspired to win with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
