The NBA Players of the Week have been revealed for the week of games played Monday, Jan. 23 through Sunday, Jan. 29. Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins won the award for the Western Conference, and Miami Heat shooting guard Dion Waiters is the Eastern Conference’s winner.
Cousins averaged 27.8 points, 14.5 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.2 blocks per game and led the Kings to a 3-1 week. Sacramento is in the race for the eight playoff seed in the West and Cousins is trying his best to finally make the postseason.
Waiters won the award for the first time in his career leading the Heat to a 4-0 record with 23.3 points, 5.0 assists and 4.5 rebounds. The memorable moment of Waiters hitting the game-winning shot for an upset victory over the Golden State Warriors stands out.
