The rumors that set the internet on fire earlier today turned out to be true. Gordon Hayward revealed in his own words that he has decided to sign with the Boston Celtics and will be leaving the Utah Jazz.
Hayward wrote an article titled “Thank You, Utah” on The Players’ Tribute making sure the Jazz fans know how much he appreciated them. The following was said about his choice.
“After seven years in Utah, I have decided to join the Boston Celtics.
I know that will be tough to hear for Jazz fans — and I really want you all to know that you mean the world to me and my family. Over the past few days, I’ve been genuinely torn. And I know that this process isn’t easy on the fans, either.”
Boston signed Hayward to a 4 year, $128 million contract. Celtics fans will hope the addition of Hayward to form a big three will allow them to contend with the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference.
