NBA legend Jerry West is leaving the Golden State Warriors franchise for the Los Angeles Clippers. West worked as a special consultant for Warriors over the past six years and helped the team get to their current era of dominance. The new spot on the Clippers will be in a similar role in hopes of helping the franchise get to the next level.

West said the following about the new opportunity:

“I’m very intrigued. This owner, [Steve Ballmer] is a winner and he wants to win.”

The Clippers will have Chris Paul, Blake Griffin and JJ Redick on the free agent market this summer. Rumors are also circulating that LeBron James may be interested in joining next summer. West’s role could very well change the franchise for the better with many important decisions to be made.
