The Cleveland Cavaliers appeared to be closing in on a trade for Chicago Bulls superstar Jimmy Butler. That all changed when Butler reportedly told the Bulls that he would prefer to stay with the team rather than be moved to the contender.
Bleacher Report reports various Cavaliers players warned Butler out of joining the team with the confusion regarding their future. Cleveland letting General Manager David Griffin go has upset LeBron James and rumors are already circulating that he will leave the Cavaliers in free agency next summer.
Kyrie Irving would likely request a trade if James walks away from the team. Butler hearing all of this likely changed his mind and realized it was best to remain in the comfortable situation instead of risking a potential dumpster fire next summer for one shot at a title.
