The Detroit Pistons have renounced the rights to Kentavious Caldwell-Pope following their acquisition of Avery Bradley. Caldwell-Pope is now the biggest asset available on the market considering most of the relevant names have already agreed to deals.
The Brooklyn Nets were viewed as the favorites to sign him, but they signed Otto Porter to a max offer sheet. Many expect the Washington Wizards to match it while waiting the full week before making it official. Brooklyn has to hope Caldwell-Pope waits it out.
Another team rumored to have strong interest in Caldwell-Pope is the Los Angeles Lakers. Caldwell-Pope would have to take a one-year contract with the Lakers looking to keep their cap space flexible next summer.
