Memphis Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley was expected to be out until late January with a lower back injury. Conley shocked the NBA world with the news that he’s returning tonight. Memphis announced Conley is cleared to play tonight against the Sacramento Kings.
The Grizzlies actually played well without Conley but desperately lacked a credible point guard. Memphis have an impressive 18-9 record at fifth in the Western Conference. Marc Gasol stepped up in the absence of Conley and won the NBA Player of the Week in the West. It will be interesting to see how Conley looks after a few weeks out.
