The potential of acquiring Kyrie Irving can influence a team into making a massive move, but the Minnesota Timberwolves are trying to remain intelligent about it. Minnesota is reportedly refusing to offer Andrew Wiggins in any potential trades for Irving after the point guard named the Timberwolves as a preferred destination.
According to ESPN’s Darren Wolfson, any prior reports of Minnesota shopping Wiggins in trade discussions are wrong. The Cleveland Cavaliers’ asking price for Irving from the Timberwolves is apparently Wiggins and more assets. Neither team got close to a deal and Irving remaining in Cleveland to start the season is likely.
