Rudy Gay was adamant about opting out of his $14 million contract with the Sacramento Kings. That was before he tore his Achilles and was forced to miss the remainder of the season. Gay is still scheduled to recover in time for next season but is second guessing hitting the free agent market with doubt around his health.
Sacramento Bee reports Gay said the following:
“I’m looking at where I feel most comfortable, where I can showcase my talents and win. Wherever I think I can do that at, that’s the best place for me.”
It would make sense for Gay to play another season in Sacramento and raise his value before becoming a free agent.
