The Minnesota Timberwolves are hoping to sign Andrew Wiggins long term this summer. Wiggins is one of the key pieces to Minnesota’s future as they set up a big four. The young combinaiton of Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns both have the potential to be the best at their positions.
Minnesota trading for Jimmy Butler and signing Jeff Teague shows they are looking to compete now as their young players progress in the NBA. Wiggins would be a restricted free agent next summer, but the Timberwolves don’t want to risk anything. The numbers being discussed would land Wiggins a five year contract worth worth up to $150 million.
